My background lies in education and for many years I have enjoyed teaching in a range of different schools, both here and abroad.
At the primary level, teachers are lucky to be able to teach a range of subjects and art has long been one of the most exciting for me to share with the children in my classes. I loved the way the children flourished in an artistic setting and I was always inspired by the way the children were eager to try out their ideas and constantly asked questions.
Printmaking is among my own earliest happy memories of being at school and in becoming a teacher I developed a renewed interest in the subject, exploring ideas through the children in my classes.
Finally, I resolved to spend more time printmaking myself, undertaking a series of courses, experimenting with different methods and materials and developing my own ways of working.
